Pros: The strengths of filming at this location is that it is a very sophisticated and stylish venue. The location is usually used for concerts and events most weekends. Therefore it is a venue that can cater for filming. The locations also have a lot of secluded areas, so we can film without any disruptions. The venue has a lot of eateries as well, so this location will be perfect as even though it is sophisticated location it is also very casual area. We wanted our protagonist to be dealing drugs therefore it reinforces how casual it is to deal drugs.

Another benefit of this location is that it is in the middle of Croydon, so it easy to access for the actors and film crew.

Cons: A limitation of filming at this venue is the noise. As we have a sensitive camera it picks up the slightest noise however this can be easily fixed if we dub the characters voices over the tape.

Shirley High School

 Pros: A strength at filming at this location because Shirley high is the school that we attend, therefore it is familiar to us. So it will be easier to gain access to the facilities within the school. Additionally, if our group is need of help, or questions need to be answered it will be easier to ask for help from our media teacher. Another benefit in filming here is that it is an easy location for all our actors to reach, as they all attend this school as well.

Cons: A limitation of filming at this location is that getting the permission to film in certain room, as certain rooms are considered off limits. Some of the rooms that we need for filming may be detained by after school classes and activities. Therefore, our group has to create a filming time table of the rooms that are free and match it to the days that the actors are free.

Spring Park

Shirley, Shirley Church Road

Pros: The benefit in filming at this location is that it is across the road from our school
Therefore it is easy to access, and if any of our equipment is breaks, or if we need extra assistance. Also, this park has aspects that are different to therefore it will be easy to film and for it to look like we have chosen a different location each time.

Con: A limitation in using this location is that we have carefully time when we can film. This is because we cannot set up any artificial lighting in the park therefore, we have to be sensible in what time we film, so that we can utilize the natural life to the best of our ability. However, our schedules are very busy so, it will be hard finding a time when everyone is free, and when the lighting in the park is good.

Our group needs to capture the protagonist home life. In order to do this our group has decided that we are going to film at one of our houses, or the protagonists (Actors) house. The protagonist house would be more ideal, as the actor may feel more at home when filming, giving us more natural acting. Also, the protagonists house would be more ideal because all the members in our group are female. Therefore it will more realistic to the audience to film in a boys house as the protagonist is a male because none of us have a males bedroom.

In this location the protagonist will be meeting his love interest.
Pro: A benefit in filming at this location is that it is relaxing environment where you would actual take a date in real life. Additionally this environment is very versatile and can easily be manipulated to film at.

Another benefit in filming at Ludoquist is that we already have filming permission from the manager, Sharon. This provides us with a new location which is a good contrast compared to other locations our group has selected.

Cons: we have to be careful what time we film at this location. This is because we do not want to disturb customers, and make them feel uncomfortable if we go at a busy time.


Croydon

We also picked Croydon town centre as a general place to film, as it is a location  that is easily accessible to all the film crew. Additionally there are a lot of secluded roads where we can film and not disturbing anyone.

Pro: A benefit of filming at the grave yard is that provides a diverse location for our production. Our group wanted to film at the grave yard as it is the perfect location for the beginning part of the story-line where we see the protagonist and his sister grieving for their parents. The bishop John gave us permission to film at St.Johns graveyard.
Con: A limitation of filming at the graveyard was that we were not sure of the boundaries that should be in place in order not to offend the public with our filming equipment. Also we wanted to film at a grave and was not sure which grave to use as we did not want to offend families who are connected the dead loved one.
